Why do I need to think about pre-payment plans?
There are lots of reasons why around 400,000 people in the UK have chosen to commit
to a funeral pre-payment plan. It's never an easy thing to think about but it's necessary in order
to care for our loved ones after we pass.

There comes a time in everyone's life when we are faced with the inevitable fact that (hopefully later rather than sooner) we will all pass. It's not something we like to think about, understandably, but it's something we should give some thought to, not really for our sake but for those we will leave behind.

This is why many people choose to give the subject a little thought now, so when that day comes, they are able to give their loved ones and themselves peace of mind knowing everything is taken care of. To make things easier we have put together a list of the top reasons people choose to arrange their burial plans themselves:

1. You can secure the lowest price.

The cost of a burial plot increases in price between 6% and 11% every year meaning the cost is constantly rising. Prepaying for a plot means you are able to secure today's price for whenever you need it.

2. Funeral plans don't fully cover burial costs.

Not many people are aware that a standard funeral or over 50's plan does not cover burial costs in whole. Most plans now will include a contribution towards the cost but not cover the full amount. People who have already taken the initiative to care for their loved ones are likely to add on a burial plot to their existing plan.

3. It saves your loved ones covering the cost.

With the annually increasing cost of funerals, many people do not wish to leave the cost of a burial and memorial for their loved ones to cover. By choosing a prepaid plan they are able take care of their family even after their departure.

4. Choose your own plot, and be buried with the ones you love.

Securing your plot before you need it allows you to select your final resting place. This also allows you to arrange a final resting place for you and a loved one, such as a spouse, if you wish.

5. Spread the cost without interest.

Many people choose the option of a prepaid plan as it allows you to spread the overall cost across 12 to 36 months without any interest, making it easier financially.

6. Priority booking for your service.

As all of your arrangements will have been decided previously by yourself, it allows us to provide your loved ones with a priority booking for your service. By removing the tough decisions families typically have to make, (such as choosing a memorial stone or tree) the process is quicker and therefore a lot less painful. It can also offer peace of mind for your loved ones knowing you have had your final wishes fulfilled exactly how you would have liked.
